2005's Monterey Historics featured demonstration laps by five of the Chaparrals created by Jim Hall of Midland, TX, in the mid-1960s.  With then-covert help from General Motors Hall and Chaparral were a force in US and international racing and thousands of enthusiasts celebrated their legacy at the Historics.  The Chaparrals now reside in a special wing of the Petroleum Museum in Midland, TX.
