In 1966 Chaparral campaigned the 2D coupe in World Sportscar Championship endurance events.  After DNFs at both Daytona and Sebring, Phil Hill and co-driver Joachim Bonnier won the 1000-kilometer event at the Nurburgring.   Hill & Bonnier later DNF'd at LeMans.
