John Timanus -- Lotus Mk.8

This oddly-shaped car was an early Frank Costin aerodynamic design.  Can anyone ID the driver, date, and venue?   Please email me!

(10-18-08) From website contributor and historic racer Bob Engberg:

"John Timanus raced this ex-James Dean car for several years. He sold it to Stan Peterson (I'm told) sometime in the '60's.  More recently, the car ended up with the chassis going one place and parts to another. Two ex-Dean cars thereafter appeared, one in Belgium and another in Japan. The Historic Lotus Registry is on top of the story and I think recognizes only one of the two cars as original. It opens up all sorts of questions about how to determine true provenance...."
