Dave Ridenour challenged for overall wins in the early 1960s in Northern California in his Lister-Jaguar.   For the 1963 season Ridenour moved up to a much quicker Genie powered by an Olds (B.O.P.) aluminum V8.  Seeking more horsepower he bought another Genie, this one with Mercury Comet (Ford) 289 power.
