Ridenour
In 1963 Ridenour campaigned
this Genie-Oldsmobile.
|
| His best finish in the
car was 2nd place at the USRRC event
at Pacific Raceways, near Kent Washington, on July 21st, 1963.
Pedro Rodriguez won in another Genie, a Joe Huffaker-entered, Chevrolet powered car. Huffaker built the Genies in San Francisco with various engines, from 1100 cc. BMC units to huge Chevy V8s. |
| A wider view of the start
of the main event at Stockton on April 13-14, 1963. Ridenour leads
Don
Wester in his Porsche RS61, Jack Dalton in Joe Huffaker's Alfa-powered
Genie, and Frank Crane in his Lotus Mk.6-Buick.
In 1964 Ridenour replaced the Oldsmobile engine with a more potent 289 Ford. He painted the car green and entered it as a "Genie-Comet" sponsored by a S.F. Bay Area Mercury dealer. |
