This is a very sad photo. It was taken at Laguna Seca on June 4, 1960. Sam Weiss (in white sweater) was killed when he crashed at Turn 4 shortly after this photo was taken. The car is the 2-liter Cooper Monaco driven to 6th place at the "L.A. Examiner Grand Prix" at Riverside by Jack Brabham on April 3, 1960. The car was later campaigned very successfully in Northern California by George Grinzewitsch, and later by Bart Martin with Chevy power.
