Dennis Aker of Shoreline, WA, won the event in his 1720cc. 1954 ex-Pete Lovely Cooper- Porsche.  This car is covered in detail in Martin Rudow's new book on Pacific Northwest sports car racing:  "Long Straights and Hairpin Turns".

Aker's car, known as the "Pooper" won a Class "F" Modified national Championship for Lovely in 1955.  At Pebble Beach on April 22, 1956, Lovely finished 4th in the Under-1500cc.event while controlling the throttle butterflies by hand after the cable broke.
