2002 winner Redman in the Collier Museum's 5555cc. 1958 Scarab Mk.III-Chevrolet was fast and impressive, but couldn't quite catch Knowles in Walton's near-identical car. The Scarabs were the ultimate Chevy-powered, front-engined American sports/racers of the 1950s. Hardly homebuilts, they benefited from Lance Reventlow's check book and the vast Southern California car fabrication talent pool and infrastructure.
