Brian Redman -- 1958 Scarab / Paul Brown -- 1961 Chaparral

Redman in Scarab 003 & Brown in Turn 5.

#5 was Chuck Daigh's number when he won the 1958 "Times Grand Prix" at Riverside in Scarab 002.  Redman drove the 003 car like he'd campaigned it for years.

Historical note (With help from Ron Cummings):   "The 003 Scarab was the one built around an Offenhauser big block motor, hence the hood scoop. This car was raced once, at Santa Barbara, with the Offy aboard.  Then it was converted to Chevrolet power.

Bruce Kessler was scheduled to drive the 003 car at the Riverside GP in 1958, then Reventlow took the seat after damaging the 001 car (Rob Walton's #16) in practice.  Reventlow was eliminated in the big race in a first lap tangle with John von Neumann."
