Jaguar.. There were three (count 'em) D-Type Jags at the January race.
Here's enduro winner Austin going down the front straight after crossing
the s/f line, getting lined up for the fast left-hander that was Turn 1.
Behind him is car #46, the "Morgenson
Spl." Since both are being followed by an MGA, I must have taken this
at Saturday's enduro. The MG was driven by E. Forbes-Robinson, who was
to have a long and successful history in SCCA racing." |

| "This remains my favorite
Torrey Pines photo. Pearce Woods had won the previous October's enduro
in a C-Type Jaguar and he returned
in January with a new "D"Jag. Here it sits in the new car early in
the AM, talking with a fan. I can smell the fog-dampened hay and
the spicy aroma of eucalyptus that mixed with the Castrol "R" that the
300SL's were using. Ou sont les nieges d'antans".
