Augie Pabst acquired the last of the Scarab sports/racers, Lance Reventlow's 1962 mid-engined car.  He converted it to street use as recounted in this article by John Lamm from the December, 1970, issue of "Motor Trend".   As far as I know, Pabst still has the car.  David Hepp contributed the article.  The photographer wasn't credited.
