Other Production Cars 1

While California's ace Corvette drivers battled for overall wins in the Production races,  the smaller-engined cars behind them fought their own wars and occasionally challenged the champions.  These photos taken at Laguna Seca Oct. 21-22, 1961.
 
It doesn't get any closer than this.

Walt Davis in his Porsche Carrera makes a move on Corvette star Bill Sherwood entering Laguna Seca's corkscrew.

 
Al Norman in #23 A.C. Bristol chases Monterey resident Earl Grafton in another A.C. Bristol.

 
A few laps later, Sandy Greenblatt spins into the haybales.

He was unhurt and even continued the race.
