Tim Dykes -- MPH Models

from Tim Dyke:  "I have just seen your fascinating site, and thought you might like to see our latest model, The Lotus IX in 1955 Le Mans guise.

"MPH Models specialises in the Le Mans 24 hour race between the years 1949 and 1965.  Our aim is to seek out the best available kits of the cars that ran in those races.  We then build a Limited and Numbered edition of 25 of each subject, incorporating such modi- fications and improvements as are both possible and necessary. We concentrate on kits made from polyurethane resin.  In our view, this material gives many advantages over white metal, particularly in crispness and delicacy of detail.  However, on some occasions we will build from scratch, if the subject we wish to model is not available elsewhere."

Prices vary according to time taken and cost of components, bearing in mind the degree of difficulty and number of modifications (frequently over 250) we make to a particular model.  As a guide line, prices are currently in the £350 area, delivered UK mainland.  Overseas postal costs are additional.

"When an edition is completed a letter is sent to all customers, inviting them to confirm their order by cheque, or authority to charge their credit card, in which case a charge of 2.5% is added to cover our extra costs.  Most overseas customers use this facility, as they frequently find the cost of issuing a sterling draft is more expensive."
