1949 Delahaye 175 S

This car was a major crowd favorite in Carmel.  Huge & spectacular, how could such an outrageous car be created in the bleak, postwar environment of 1949 France?

How much is too much?  All this for two people?   To your webmaster it's wonderful how the way over-the-top Delahaye delivers a big raspberry to today's politically correct minimalists.  It's enormous, it gets terrible gas mileage, it has no smog equipment, it's totally impractical -- but we sure love it!  One question: How would one park it against a curb without risking damage to its chrome fender skirts?
