Two of the more interesting cars in the event brake for Turn 4.   Richard Mattei finished 22nd in his 5358cc. Chevrolet-powered car.  Reyns' car is a special lightweight factory racer that competed at Sebring in 1963 with Ed Leslie and Frank Morrill driving.  They finished 7th, the first non-Ferrari finisher and a place ahead of the similar Cunningham entry with Bruce McLaren and Walt Hansgen driving.

Leslie raced the car again at the USRRC event at Laguna Seca on June 9, 1963.  He finished 8th.  Then the car's history got interesting...
