Hayes in the pit lane at the end of race-day morning's warm-up session.  He qualified 12th, but the McKee's Oldsmobile engine wouldn't start on the racing grid, and Charlie's race, like Jim Hall's , was over before it began. 

Leslie qualified James Garner's heavy endurance racer 27th, then DNF'd after 42 laps with a blown engine.
