Bondurant in Turn 8 at Riverside during qualifying for the 1961 "L.A. Times Grand Prix".

This Corvette was disqualified at the September 2-3, 1961 races at Santa Barbara for an illegal flywheel.  Rather then returning the car to production specs, Bondurant modified it further and entered it as a sports/racer in the Fall pro races at Riverside and Laguna Seca.  He didn't qualify at Riverside; at Laguna Seca he qualified but was an early DNF after a starting line collision with Dave Ridenour.

Monterey Historics Event Chairman Steve Earle now owns and races this car in historic events.
