Best known for his heroics in the Meister Brauser Scarab, Pabst drove one of Briggs Cunningham's temperamental V12-powered mid-engined Maseratis in the "L.A. Times Grand Prix" at Riverside on Oct. 15, 1961.  

A non-qualifier, he made it into the main event through the "Consolation Race" but DNF'd.
