Harris qualified 15th at 2:07.7; he later later lapped Riverside in the 2:04s with a larger 327 cid engine in the car.  He finished the "L.A. Times Grand Prix" on Oct. 15, 1961, in 13th place in what amounted to a shakedown run for a car still exploring the possibilities of mid-engine placement for a heavy, big displacement American V8.
