(1-29-11)   From Mark Briant:

"There are two unusual details captured here. He is wearing a helmet with a white visor (very rare, and I’d never seen him use anything but a black visor) and he is wearing the old-style dual-lens glass goggles – I believe he borrowed them from Jack Brabham. Again, extremely rare for him to wear anything but the usual military surplus rubber goggles."

(2-5-11)   From Scott Sperka:

"In this photo of Dan, is his right index finger bare?  If so, why?  Totally incredible photos!!"

(2-5-11)   More from Scott Sperka:

"The bare finger may be for flipping a switch or something like that.  Maybe between fuel tanks, pumps, etc.  I can't believe it would be for "sensitivity" to the steering wheel or shifter.  Hmmmm.?"

(12-14-13)   From David Thompson:

"Dan's knit-back gloves had brown leather index fingers; not sure why.  Note how much protection Dan's helmet gives the puny little rollbar."
