Here are two more photos of Ed Leslie, both show him on the starting grid at Vaca Valley Raceway, August 19-20, 1961.
 

Leslie tried this Lotus 20 at Vacaville.

He didn't like it and raced his familiar Lotus 18 instead.
 
Leslie greets a friend up in the grandstand area.

Next to him on the grid is Nadeau Bourgeault, driving his beautifully crafted Bourgeault F-Jr.

Behind are Ron Hanford in the #12 BMC F-Jr., and Dr. Lyle Powell in his home-built Crocus.
