The Campbell Special was
originally a Class "G" Modified car with an 1100cc. JAP motorcycle engine
and chain drive.

at Santa Barbara for the Labor day event on September 2-3, 1961 a Chevy
V8 had replaced the little JAP.
Driver Bob Harris showed the car's potential in practice when he blasted past drivers expected to be contenders in the main event. Here he sets up Jack McAfee for a pass exiting Turn 7. |
