Laguna Seca Scenic -- With Car On Fire

A good look at "Old" Laguna Seca.  If the lakebed was dry it provided excellent parking for a lot of cars.  Sometimes (rarely) it was really a lake and provided no parking.  But, sometimes... It looked like good safe parking but was really still wet enough below the surface to become an enormous mud-mire that trapped quite a few spectators' cars.

Jimmy Laws ID'd the burning as Parnelli Jones' Cooper-Ford "King Cobra".  Is he right about this:   Please email me!

(2-3-10)   From Rich Blackmarr:

"I’m pretty sure that’s Parnelli’s King Cobra burning in the Turn 4 (?) area after his crash.  The fire lasted a long time."

(2-8-10)   From Eric Bernhard:

All I know about this one is that the smoke is coming from Turn 2, before it was changed and renamed the "Andretti hairpin". The accident may have started in Turn 1, because the smoke is coming from a spot near the entry of the corner."
