Peter Shea of Newport Beach, CA, finished 22nd in his 7581cc. 1962 Ol' Yaller IX.  The fastest of Max Balchowsky's creations, Mk.IX is a super-potent car that Shea has driven to victory in his events at the Monterey Historics.  This year engine problems slowed the car and kept Shea & his crew very busy in the pits.

During Friday's practice, Shea leads Rob Walton in his 5555cc. 1961 Chaparral 1, #19 Gordon Gimbel from Roseville, CA, in the ex-Dan Gurney "Pacesetter" Lotus Mk.19B- Ford, and Michael Stott of Ho Ho Kus,  NJ, in his 1600cc. 1962 Lotus Mk.23.  Gimbel finished 11th, Stott 20th.
