James Edwards of Show Low, AZ, was a non-starter in his 5550cc. 1958 Echidna Special- Chevrolet.  The Echidnas were quintessential homebuilts, created over a long Minnesota winter by three friends out of the most mundane parts.  They were fast.  Even with their cut-down Chevy car frames, they could challenge Scarabs on a good day.
