1956-62 Production/GT Sports Cars -- "The Corvette Race"

The 50th Anniversary of America's sports car, the Corvette, was celebrated at the Monterey Historics this year.  No less than 23 of the fiberglass-bodied cars entered Saturday's "Group 5B".  They filled the first 10 places.

Joe Freitas in #77 leads Ron Cressey in #59.  Bob Reynolds holds off three challengers in Turn 5.
The race!  Cressey leads Freitas, eventual winner Ken Epsman, and Noel Park, who DNF'd. Robert Bodin finished 11th.  He was the first non- Corvette across the line in his Ferrari 250GT SWB.
Steve Earle leads Paul Reinhart through Turn 5. Art Redford was 12th in his colorful car.
