Bob Engberg's photos of Bill Doheny's 4.4 liter Ferrari 121LM from the January 14-15 Torrey Pines event.  McAfee charged back to finish 2nd to Masten Gregory, recovering from an early spin that dropped him  to 13th place. 
 

"Ernie McAfee in the 4.4 litre Ferrari owned by William Doheny during the January '56 event for over 1500cc cars.  This was one of his last races as he was killed driving this car at Pebble Beach later in the year."
