Mac's first race in 2001
didn't last long.

| Mac, in his red 427 Cobra,
follows leader Phil Gallant's 289 Cobra through Turn 2. In third
place is Fred Galloway in another 289 Cobra.
Mac DNF'd on the second
lap when the 427's differential, according to mechanic Eric Bernhard, "Split
open like a ripe pumpkin". Four cars spun on Mac's spilled fluid
and the race was red-flagged for a major cleanup of the Turn 11 area.
