INT. DANCEHALL, AT THE BAR - NIGHT

Jeff and Katie meet.  She's struggling, her nerves are shot, but she’s sober.

                           JEFF
               How're you doing?

                           KATIE
               Maybe better, my nose stopped 
               bleeding.  No coke so far today.

                           JEFF
               Just get through tonight, then 
               we'll worry about the rest.

                           KATIE
               Jeff, Marv's got kilos of coke in 
               the office safe, I saw them earlier.

                           JEFF
               Where's he now? 

                           KATIE
               In there with Flaherty.  They're 
               doing some kind of deal.

                           JEFF
               They'd do that here?  Now?

                           KATIE
               Who's supposed to stop them, the cops?

                           JEFF
               We are.  Let's go!

He takes her by the hand.

                           KATIE
               Jeff, no, I can't.  Marv'll…

                           JEFF
               We've got to, Katie.

They leave the club through the back door fire exit.
 

EXT. REAR OF DANCEHALL - NIGHT

Jeff and Katie hurry down a path toward the office.
 

INT. MEADOW RANCH, OFFICE - NIGHT

Marv and Flaherty sit at the desk.  The safe is open. Inside are kilos of cocaine, bundles of greenbacks, and a pistol.

                           MARV
               You say Jeff's on to us now?

                           FLAHERTY
               I'm more worried about Katie.  Jeff 
               said she won't testify.

                           MARV
               I’ve got that little whore so strung 
               out she'll say anything for another
               line.
                     (beat)
               And if either of them gives me any 
               trouble…

He points his finger like a pistol...
