INT.  MEADOW RANCH - DANCEHALL - NIGHT

Onstage, Seve and Severina ignore the boos and laugh at the crowd.

                           SEVERINA
Too bad for all you long-haired
                doofuses, but hippie days are
                over.

                           SEVE
As Jimi Hendrix would have said:
                “You'll never hear “Eagles” music
                again.”

Mixed cheers and boos from the audience.  The singers laugh again coldly.  "Stygma" starts into a familiar “Eagles” tune.

                           SEVE & SEVERINA
                     (sing; cruelly mocking
                      the “Eagles”)
                “I’ve got a peaceful, easy
                feeling…”

They crack up in snide, cynical laughter.

                           SEVE

We wrote this next song, it's a
                 love story, about us

                           SEVERINA
                 And it's true, too.

They lead the band into their dark masterpiece, "ORIGINAL SONG #12".  At the bar, Jeff sips his soda water.  He scans the room again.

He sees the band playing their demented anthem to a full dance floor.

He sees Katie deliver drinks to a group of four tough-looking skinhead punks.  Money and small parcels also change hands.

Jeff, disappointed and disgusted, finishes his soda water.

He takes a last look at thin, bloodlessly white, and wasted Katie, then leaves the bar.

INT. MEADOW RANCH, CASHIER'S DESK - NIGHT

Jeff elbows his way past a surly, unfriendly Santos, then joins Shana.

                           SHANA
               Did you learn anything?

                           JEFF
               A little.

He walks outside, "Stygma's" bizarre love song continues in the background...
