According to the race results, Rob Manson finished 9th in the Baldwin Special; he must have sat in for Herlinger after his own Schaghticoke-Manning Special was sidelined with engine woes.  But this isn't Manson behind the wheel, so this photo is from a practice session.  Both Specials use flathead Mercury V8 engines.

Romano finished 7th in his 2990cc. car.

(Note: Because the "A" Groups practiced in the mornings on Thursday and Friday, the "B" groups enjoyed sunshine for their afternoon sessions on those days.  The "B" Groups practiced in the foggy morning gloom only on their Sunday race day.)
