Pete Lovely

This Washington-based driver was a consistent winner in the 1950s and 1960s in west coast racing.  Website visitor Ed Sauer contributed the great photo below.

Lovely in the "Team Rosebud" 2.5 liter Lotus Mk.19-Climax winning the main event at Laguna Seca on June 10, 1962.  The next weekend Lovely blew the car's engine during qualifying for the Portland, OR, "Rose Cup" pro race.

The "Team Rosebud" Lotus reappeared for the Fall pro events at Riverside and Laguna Seca with a 2.0 Climax and Innes Ireland driving.  For 1963 it had Ferrari V12 power.
