Max & Ina's next project was Old Yeller Mk.III, a much sleeker car built for Cinematographer Haskell Wexler. 
 

Bob Drake in Old Yeller III at the 1961 Riverside Grand Prix.  He finished 5th. Max drove Old Yeller III at Santa Barbara and elsewhere in 1962. Ronnie Bucknum won at Riverside in June, 1963 in the car.

At Riverside in March 1962, Old Yeller III sat in the pits with a "For Sale" sign on the windshield. Was this one of Max's jokes, or did somebody miss a huge opportunity here?

At the 2000 Monterey Historics,  two of Max's immortals brake for Turn 2. Ernie Nagamatsu in Old Yeller II leads Bruce Jacobs in OY III.
