Imagine the sound!  In this rear view photo, CanAm cars accelerate out of Turn 7 and head for Turn 8.  For the 1966 event, Riverside returned to the "long course" configuration using the full 1.1 miles straight.
 
 

Your webmaster can't even start to identify these cars.  The sheer number of top drivers in ultra-fast sports racers with unlimited-size V8 engines in the CanAm series astounds me in retrospect.  The strength of the fields was unbelievable.
