Jack's Latest Project

"Here's a photo of the Harley-powered Lotus 7ish car under construction--with fake bodywork courtesy of Photoshop."

"Frame, suspension, Harley engine to Subaru trans adapter, pipes, all are real. Everything gray is pretend; that is, all the bodywork.  However, all the bodywork is of real body parts for the standard car-engined version, just trimmed with Photoshop-- trimmed a lot since they needn't cover the engine."
"Essentially it's a Lotus 7 except not so huge and cumbersome; nose is trimmed back as well as shortened since it needn't enclose a radiator. Side and rear will be sheet aluminum as usual."

From Jack:

"In the car is Sharon Westcott; I met her through ultralights. She built an aircraft with an engine I was partially responsible for (my concept and I built the prototype, another company did the production) and we've been palling around together since-- she was my right-hand human at the Bond shoot in Chamonix, for example. Anyway, she and I are doing the cars together; we'll be building a Miata-powered IRS "7" this spring, it looks like we can get it 1000 pounds lighter than a Miata. It ought to accelerate well, handle well (at least corner fast; though the ride will be significantly rougher than a Miata) and still have that Japanese mass production reliability.

Who would have thought, looking at a Miata, that there was half a ton of totally unnecessary sports car there."
