"That's Dick Whittington's Lotus 23 #73.  He and Dallas had lots of fine battles over the years..  Dallas on his first outing at the airport at San Luis Obispo beat him when on the last lap on the last turn Dick spun!  It was a long friendship from there after as you can understand.  It was the weekend of the Watts riots and as we towed back through LA we could see the smoke to the west of Hwy. 101.  Dick was famous for having a wife named Margie who made Eggs Benedict sauce Bearnaise bien sur nude in their camper on race mornings....wearing only a front covering apron!!
