| (7-25-08) From Michael Jacobsen:
"The "Jaguar Special" is in fact the Seifried Special -- driven by
Bob Path, powered by a flathead Merc. This was the last time I remember
seeing it, and the only time with this paint job (previously it was solid
red). The date is '54."
From Allan Girdler's "American
Road Race Specials 1934-70" pg. 26
"The Seifried Special began life as a track roadster but was converted
into a sports car, with the emphasis on racing. The conversion was
a neat, clean work, especially as it was a steel body, and the car won
on oval tracks against rivals with more power". (Road & Track)
(7-28-08) From Michael Jacobsen:
"The driver of the Seifried may be Steve Wilder not Path." |
